Sharing the Work of Destiny Rescue

Freedom Project hasn't even officially kicked off, and we've already been able to share the work of Destiny Rescue in two local churches and at a missions market in Dalby!

At our first church, Redeemer Lutheran, Kerri talked about Destiny Rescue as well as her experiences with seeing the girls in the red light district, how her art is a great advocacy tool and for fundraising to rescue girls out of human trafficking. We experienced a high level of support in the congregation and great conversations with the people after the talk. We sold some of Kerri's artwork, postcards, and CD's and some people just gave us money in donations.

At the second church, Living Grace, Evelien spoke for a few minutes and then shared a song she wrote about human trafficking. At the display table, we sold jewellery made by rescued girls. The people were really impacted by Evelien's song and we had some good conversations with the people who stopped by our table. One lady said that she would like to do jewellery parties at some point and that she knew someone who used to do them and couldn't get enough of the jewellery.

At the missions market in Dalby, Nathan spoke for a couple of minutes on what Destiny Rescue does and the positive impact it has on the girls who are rescued and restored from the sex trade. There were about 30 different missions organisations at the market and each of them spoke for 90 seconds each on what their organisation does. It was really inspiring hearing all of their testimonies and that we are all working together, not in competition for the Kingdom. It was a blessing just to be there representing Destiny Rescue and hear stories from the other missionaries around the room.

We are hoping to continue going into churches and markets, as well as expanding into homes and anywhere else the opportunity arises in coming months. So far, we are halfway there to rescuing our first girl! We are praying that in coming months, we will see the rescue of many children and people wanting to sponsor Destiny Rescue homes.
